HVAC system Brampton

HVAC stands for the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. It’s the main element that decides your home’s comfort. The thing is, HVAC comprises of too many elements, and if you want to understand the HVAC system – then you will have to break down the whole system and get to know each element separately.

So, there’s two types of installations – you can either choose the Central Heating or the Central Cooling setup. We shall discuss out both and see how it works for all seasons.

  • Central Heating System

Each heating system comes with one central appliance or setup, like the furnace unit. Usually the heating systems are installed in areas like basement or garage spaces.

HVAC Heating consists of basic components like burner (space where all the fuel burning takes place), heat exchangers, blower (the motor that vents out heated air produced during the working of the HVAC system), gas manifold (the thing which connects the gas burner with the gas valve), and finally the thermostat (the guy which controls the temperature inside the home).

How does a heating system work?

As the fuel burns, it produces combustion gases inside the burner section of the furnace, which is then passed into the heat exchanger. Air from the room is passed into the heat exchanger, which in turn passes through the warm air giving out hot air through the ducts provided with the heating system.

During the summers you can connect the heating system alongside the air conditioning system Brampton. Here, the incoming air is passed over the air conditioners cooling coil unit. The air produced here, then makes way to the circulating fan which evenly distributes the cool air inside the home.

  • Central Cooling System

The common cooling system has a split design with two separate units, one is outdoor unit with the condenser and compressor. Whereas the indoor unit has a got an evaporator coil on It attached with the furnace or the air boiler system.

The compressor pumps out a chemical called the refrigerant during the processing.

How does a cooling system work?

As the warm air starts blowing inside the room, the heat energy of the air gets in contact with the refrigerant inside the coil. Due to shift of air placement, it ends up cooling the air. After this, the refrigerant goes back to the compressor section again.

The heat absorbed by the refrigerant is pushed out of the home, whereas the cool air moves inside the room. Along with the warm air, the air conditioning takes out the humidity out of the house. Here, the air-cooling system is connected to the heating system, since the duct system used for the cooling is the same one used for the heating.

If you wish to get the best home comfort to your family, then take a closer look on the HVAC installed at home. Which are the components that fall in the HVAC functioning? They are given below-

  1. Thermostat: This is the visible unit on a regular HVAC device. Usually it comes with a preset value or you must manually set the temperature you want. As soon as the temperature in the surrounding decreases or increases from the required one, it will wake up the heat exchanger to do the rest of the job.
  • Heat Exchanger: This element is found inside the furnace housing. It gets turned on by the thermostat for producing more warm air during the winters. The exchanger takes in the cool air, makes it warm and distributes it across the room.
  • Furnace: It’s the most vital section of the HVAC, and probably the largest of all. Furnaces are usually stored in spacious areas like the basement, in the roof space, etc. The main process of generating heat is carried out inside this, for which different variety of sources are taken like heat pump, electric resistance, combustion, or even the solar energy.
  • Evaporator coil: The purpose of the evaporator coil is just the opposite of the heat exchanger. As you set lower temperature on the thermostat, it’s this same coil which works for the cooling. It produces cool air, and then circulates it through the duct.
  • Condensing unit: More often called as the outdoor unit, it’s an external unit which is installed on the outdoor portion. The HVAC people install this unit on the outdoors, which is filled with a refrigerant. This refrigerant is first cooled to liquid by the heat exchanger, and then the evaporator converts the liquid to the gaseous form.
  • Duct: This is the part of the system which constitutes all the tubes which passes the hot or the cooled air from one part to another inside the machine itself. It’s usually made from aluminum, where you can also find ducts made out from steel, fiberglass, plastic, etc.
  • Vents: With the help of the vents, the hot or the cooled air can be transferred from the machine to the room where you have installed the unit. These vents can be controlled by the user, you can lower or higher the vents depending on where you are inside the room. You can also keep the vents closed as and when required.

If you have an HVAC unit running in your home, make sure you check them regularly and maintain well for long run. Hope you had fun reading this one! Questions and feedback are welcomed!
